How to Create a Link

Creating links between pages is easy in both the visual editor and the plain text editor. In the visual editor, highlight the text you wish to link and click the earth icon hyperlink.gif in the toolbar to add a new link. In both the visual editor and the plain text editor, you can add a link by enclosing a word in double square brackets.

To create a link from the Walt Whitman page to a new topic,
  1. Go to the Walt Whitman page and see the TOPICS link list;
  2. Beneath the last topic link, type the name of your new topic;
  3. Highlight the text you have just typed and click the earth icon hyperlink.gif OR
  4. Place double square brackets [[ at the beginning and ]] at end of your text;
  5. Then click Save.

To create a link from your student page back to a page you have posted on,
  1. Go to your student page and click Edit This Page;
  2. Under the Walt Whitman Postings, type the exact name of the page you posted on;
  3. Highlight the text you have just typed and click the earth icon hyperlink.gif OR
  4. Place double square brackets [[ at the beginning and ]] at end of your text;
  5. Then click Save.
